What happens when someone features guitar tabs on a website so musicians can learn to play their favorite songs? The display is probably a violation of copyright because the publishers have licensed few guitar tab sites. But publishers are facing to more pressing issues than whether they should pursue unauthorized sites: What is the best business model to compete with the free, unauthorized sites, and publishing contracts not being able to cover the necessary rights to post tabs for the sites allowed?

Whether the reaction to the dispute is holding up the site. But the debate is unlikely to be resolved soon. It boils down to two questions: In light of all illegal sites, the tabs should be offered free ad-supported sites even if "free" foods in May consumer demand for more music for free, thereby devaluing music?
