Will a septic system support the weight of car?
We are looking at a house that has a building with it, but the septic system is located between the house & the building. We are wondering if we will be able to drive over the septic system or would the weight of a vehicle harm it?
Probably to definitely not. Chances are, your septic system is set at minimum depth allowed for your area, and I have yet to know of one that a vehicle could safely drive over. Ask the agent the depth of the pipes, and if they are more than 4.5 underground (which I sincerely doubt) you might be able to drive a lightweight vehicle over it, but not park. I however, would not take the chance, after seeing my neighbor having to shell out more than $11,000 when he drove his car over his.

Who would you hire for IT Support
First of all, let me ask you a simple question. Who do you go to if you have aching teeth? The answer definitely would be your Dentist who is qualified professional, understands why and which medicine would be best for you.
You may say I would go to the local pharmacy, or may be tesco or sainsbury’s to buy painkiller, but then you never know this simple pain may become a long term illness if you do not treat it right.
Now I do not want to undermine the expertise of non-graduates. Some of them are better than any Graduates. But there is a limit to what they know. Most non-graduates, who go and take a short course “May” have a limited knowledge. While working for leading Service provider for a few years, I have seen that once a so called “IT Consultant” is stuck with a problem, who you pay hundreds, may be thousands in the long run, calls a £6 an hour support desk staff asking questions.
Why does that happen? Because if they are stuck, they either don’t want to find a solution or do not know how to. So if they don’t know or don’t want to learn why would you pay them? You yourself can be on the other side of the phone, solve the problem yourself, saving yourself money. Now some people may ask, why do I have a negative attitude towards these people?
Well, because they are undermining our credibility to the businesses. I have on a few occasions heard from businesses, they are tired of spending money for IT Support and the solutions are not effective enough. If you hire a Microsoft Certified Professional, who do not have Cisco knowledge, and go on and spend a few hundred more for a CCNA to come and install the router and configure the network, who is loosing? You or the people you are hiring?
On another point, if a business had the money that they could employ a IT Consultant, who would they advertise for? Well, I think they will ask for a Computer Science/IT Graduate, who has the in-depth knowledge about software, programming and networking. Would you hire someone who only knows how to configure a network? I guess NO would be the answer. But again, there are consultants, who do not have formal education, have worked in this field for years and have more knowledge than any computer science gradates. One of my colleagues a few years ago, who dropped out of college designed a software that a lot of businesses use and even someone like me who is writing this blog, admires his skills. So, I would suggest watching out before you hire someone to do your work. Don’t go to your local computer shop and ask someone to have a look at your file or mail server, find someone who knows the ins and outs of it, FIND A SPECIALIST.

What is the “central support system” in diaper cakes?
I am selling a diaper cake to a friend and she is at the other side of the US than me… on ebay I see that people are using a “central support system” to keep them from falling apart. While I believe the diapers are wrapped tightly enough that they would not fall apart, I’d like to be sure. I was going to use a dowel rod but perhaps there’s something better? How do you go about using whatever “device” you use?
I have been making diaper cakes for years, and I’ve tried everything to keep the layers together. There are a couple of good options. First, before you assemble the individual layers of your cake, be sure each layer is tightly bundled. Whether your cake is constructed with individually rolled diapers or diapers that are “fanned” into a circle, the key is to make sure they are TIGHT. When you are making your layers, you should be able to pick up each layer (with a light touch) without any diapers moving or sagging in the layer. If you can do that, then your layer is bundled tightly enough.
Once your diaper cake is securely bundled, choose your support system. In my opinion, a quarter inch dowel rod works best. It is strong enough to guard your cake from toppling, but small enough that it won’t affect the shape of your cake – no one will even know it’s there. An easy method of insertion: measure the height of your cake and cut your dowel rod to 1/2″ shorter than that height (you don’t want it to poke out the top.) Next, wrap one diaper around the dowel rod for each layer of the cake, and secure with an elastic or a piece of string. When this step is complete, it should look like a column of 3 rolled diapers, with no dowel rod showing at all.
Now, lay out the bottom layer of your diaper cake. If it is bundled tightly enough, you should be able to remove ONLY THE CENTER DIAPER without any other diapers moving. Make sure you remove the diaper from the exact center of the bottom layer. Now, insert your “diaper wrapped” dowel rod in its place (the diaper on the TOP of the dowel rod should be the one that comes up half an inch above the dowel rod, to ensure that it doesn’t show.)
Take your next layer, remove the center diaper, and slide it down your diaper wrapped dowel rod into place. Repeat for each layer, and viola! You have a very secure cake.
Your second option is to use tall baby care items to secure the cake. Start in the middle of the largest layer, and remove just about 3 diapers. Insert a tall Baby Powder, or a blanket or towel that you have rolled into a tall cylinder. Remove the same number of diapers from the next layer, and slide the next layer over the item you’ve chosen to support those two layers. Now, remove about 3 more diapers from that second layer (in a slightly different area,) add another tall item, remove diapers from the final layer, and slide over the support item. Whatever items you choose to support your cake should be roughly the height of two cake layers. Remember to vary their location within the cake layers.
Either of these options works equally well. The final step you want to take to really guarantee that the cake will be secure is to wrap the whole thing. I large tulle circle (tulle is about a dollar a yard at any craft store) or a cellophane gift bag (these are quite inexpensive as well) will ensure that you can put your cake in the mail and sleep soundly! It will arrive just as beautiful as you sent it!

Promised Land [CD-ROM] Queensryche’s follow-up to the double-platinum Empire is something of an acquired taste, but it’s well worth the effort. There’s considerable variety here; the heavy progressive-rock of “I Am I” and the ballad “Bridge” were hit singles, but there’s also the funk-inflected “Disconnected”, the edgy, spooky “Lady Jane”, and the piano-and-vocals “Someone Else?”. The title track is probably the stronge… |
