The dance was a week from next Wednesday and Rex was far from ready to escort the lady he’d been eyeing. She was as beautiful as a bee tree and twice as sweet. She had hinted that Rex could take her to the soiree for some time now, but every time he looked in the mirror he knew she would glow twenty shades brighter than the backend of a lightning bug, and he had furrows deeper than a plowed row sinking into his face. He needed some kind of anti wrinkle cream for his seamed, weathered face, and as he sat the hot biscuit pan on the Stanley Home Products catalog he used as a coaster he started to formulate ideas about what product he could use as a de-wrinkler.

Granny had been famous for using honey as an anti wrinkle cream, and Chesty Varnon said he used molasses for his ewes after shearing. Not one person had any idea how to keep from getting sticky and get rid of wrinkles at the same time he thought as he read about the latest Stanley Home Products. Didn’t anyone make an anti wrinkle cream that would salve a crusty sheep rancher? Was the answer maybe right there in front of him as he turned the next page in his Stanley Home Products catalog?

The fact is that he couldn’t decide whether to take Haley to the dance or not. Every eye in town would be pointed his way if he went with her because she had been the wife of the sheriff. Unfortunately he got mixed up with the baker twins a couple of years ago and they had finished him off. No they hadn’t actually killed him; they owned the local filling station and they had supplied the gas he filled his leaky mower with. After he lighted that last cigarette, that one of the twins had bummed him, the whole lawn went up like a New Year’s Eve firework. His wife was more concerned about the Stanley Home Products catalog being scorched.

Rex finally decided on one of those line reducer anti wrinkle creams that women use. It doesn’t really matter which gender uses the product as long as the results are the same, and vanity is not the purview of the fairer sex. To make a long story short, Rex’s face was smoother than a snake with a new thrown skin, and Haley was the uppitiest gal at the dance.

Have you been disappointed by the reveal of the KAD killer on OLTL? This story started out to be very promising. But I am greatly disappointed in the reveal that Powell Lord is the killer. It’s very anti-climatic.
Hope the story of Rex’s Dad doesn’t turn into a bummer also. This story is dragging out too long. A lot of people don’t care anymore who Rex’s father is.

I was very disappointed. After all the months of anticipation and all the great theories on here, to have it end like that was a major letdown. I also hope that all the other great story lines that have been going on have better endings.
