My toddler just turn one. If I don’t change her diet from the formula to a cow milk, what would be pro/con?
I feel formula contains all nutrients necessary for her and I feel better to know that she got all she needs. Thanks for all answers. (I am now using Enfamil Next Step for toddler 9-24 Mo.).
Since you’ve gotten all the “no more formula” answers, I’ll give you a different one.
When my daughter turned one, she was getting 3 formula bottles a day (morning, before nap, and before bed). At around 13 months I took away the morning bottle, and at 14 months the afternoon bottle.
*However* my daughter is now 18 months old, and she occasionally (well, 3 or 4 nights a week) gets a formula bottle before bed. Especially if she hasn’t had a particularly good eating day. Of course, I brush her teeth right after wards, so there’s no cause of tooth decay.
I really don’t see the harm in it. A lot of toddlers that age that are breastfeed so do so before bed. So, why can’t my daughter have some formula before bed?
I’m sure in the next month or so, she’ll decide she no longer wants it. But, there’s no rush. If you aren’t interested in stopping formula yet, then don’t.
* And I wanted to add that my daughter eats 3 solid meals a day, plus 2 snacks. So, she gets pretty much all her nutrients from food. It’s now a comfort thing more than anything.
