i would love to detox my system and tighten up from the master cleanse and i got my first taste of what it’s like this weekend doing it for only three days, but i’m curious how people have handled it from doing it for 2+ weeks.
I exercised for about one hour thirty minutes too just so I could keep my metabolism up and not have it slow down from lack of calories (i think! haha but with all that maple syrup you never know.) i’m also curious if it helps you lose any weight because of all the sugar from the maple syrup. haha.
did you gain all the weight back after you stopped?
i am fully aware that there are healthier ways to diet but i was fascinated by this and decided to give it a try. it actually tastes really good haha.

I did it for 12 days (close enough!) I ordered the Neera cleanse online. I started on a Saturday so I could get over the hump before going back to work and not be in agony. It was rough the first three days and then smooth sailing. I was amazed and disgusted by the fact that on the fifth day I was still having bowel movements even though I hadn’t eaten anything and followed the cleanse to a T. Also, the fact that I was a semi-vegetarian and had bowel movements twice a day regularly. I thought my system was pretty efficient, but the proof was in the fact that FULL bowel movements 5-7 days into it were still happening. Should my friend fight for Power of Attorney if her mother is being hospitalized for substance abuse???
My friend’s mother is currently in the hospital for substance abuse. She is going through detox and the hospital expects her to stay there for another week or two. She is now in ICU and is in a very incoherent state. After that they are recommending she be admitted to rehab.
My friends father and her mother do not have a good relationship at all. He has made a lot of bad choices in the past and doesn’t think very rational/”sane”.
My friend’s family has approached her about getting Power of Attorney over her mother. Is this something that she should do. If so, why? What benefits will it provide? How should she go about doing this?
If her mother is incoherent, she does likely currently possess the capacity to make a decision to authorise a power of attorney.
Power of attorney documents should be put in place before an individual becomes incapacitated and incapable of managing their own affairs and making decisions for themselves. Unfortunately few people have the foresight or the inclination to do so.
Where the person involved here does not likely currently have the capacity to sign a legal document, the only way to be able to make decisions on her behalf would be to apply to court for a legal guardianship. At least two medical opinions would be needed to support such an application.
Is the purpose behind this request to be able to make decisions regarding medical treatment or finances or both?
How long would it be before her doctors think she might be capable of making decisions and signing legal documents?
Any legal proceeding would take time. Her recovery period here may not make it worthwhile. If she may recover sufficiently to make coherent and rationale decisions for herself within the next two weeks, the best course of action is to do nothing, wait it out and then discuss signing a power of attorney with her when she is legally capable of doing so.
