Ideas for phase puree and protein powder after a gastric bypass?
I had my surgery March 3 and I started on diet of mashed potatoes this week. I am very happy that I did not drink more liquid protein, but I'm kind of confused with protein powder. Any ideas on how to drink the protein powder to get all my protein needs? Can you tell me your experience with the puree stage? What makes it more simple? Only serious answers please!
The great advantage of protein powder is that you do NOT drink! Add it to your foods to boost protein fast! I never drink … it's ugly stuff, but I add to everything I ate. Add the milk, spaghetti sauce, potato puree, any and all what you want! I asked my surgeon about adding the powder to the food instead of drink and he told me it was an idea fabulous and I actually introduced the idea of my support groups and they all embraced. I still use protein powders, but not as much as I did before. If I find I am a little weak in my account of protein, I'll add some of my food. I The gastric bypass surgery was in October 2007. I still eats 70-80 grams of protein per day, 800-1000 calories per day, 5 miles 6 days a week. I lost 150 pounds and am now within 15 pounds of my Goal!
