what can I do to make my throat heal…?
A few months ago, I had a bad reaction to some pain meds, and ended up in the hospital with an intubation…it tore my throat up. I’m sad because I love to sing, and I love karaoke and I miss it terribly…I sound like my poor grandmother did at 70…like I’ve been smoking cigars and drinking 70 year old whiskey for the last 30 years! I’ve tried slippery elm, throat coat and lozenges…
Well, don’t smoke or drink for one. I would suggest lots of rest and get your doctor to prescribe you some codeine to kill any cough that you may have. Tell your doctor that you are training to be a singer and that you need to get back to work fast. He’ll give you what you need. Just watch it! That shit can be addictive but if you take it as directed you should be fine.

Natural Remedy To Relieve Heartburn
Several different things can help relieve the constant sharp pains to the chests that are commonly known as heartburn. One natural remedy to relieve heartburn is to stimulate saliva production by chewing gum or sucking on a lozenge, the saliva created can relieve the heartburn that you are suffering from.
Your saliva will bathe the esophagus and lessen the effect the acid that has refluxed up from the stomach. Chewing sugarless gum for around thirty minutes after meals stimulates saliva and eases the acid reflux you currently uphold.
Avoid any foods that may trigger the heartburn. Keep a food diary to monitor the food that you eat, and the certain drinks. Common triggers can include: citrus fruits, chocolate, peppermint, spearmint, tomatoes, raw onions, garlic, black pepper, vinegar, fatty foods, spicy foods, coffee, citrus juice, carbonated beverages, and any alcoholic beverages can trigger heartburn.
Another factor to reduce the heartburn is eating your food slowly, and making several observations on your plate and note how it smells and looks. A natural remedy to relieve heartburn is chewable DGL. This is a form of the herb licorice that has the glycyrrhizin component removed to reduce the risk of glycyrrhizin-related side effects such as high blood pressure and water retention.
Researches suggest licorice may decrease inflammation, inhibit the growth of potentially harmful stomach bacteria, and help with ulcers. There haven’t been any clinical trials on the use of licorice for heartburn or GERD.
The juices from the aloe vera plant are another natural remedy to relive heartburn. Is soothes the irritation in the esophagus. There is no scientific evidence that this might help but Aloe Vera juice has a long history of use in Europe as a natural remedy to relieve heartburn.
Slippery Elm was once a popular drugstore remedy for sore throats in North America. The herb was listed in the United States Pharmacopeia until 1960.
