Saskatoon Berry tarts – how long to bake?
I am making Saskatoon Berry tarts (3 inch tart shells) as I hate the mess pie makes. I have my pie filling made up and am not sure how long to bake them in the tart shells – 15 to 20 minutes?? It’s been so long since I have made tarts I can’t remember and when I try to find fruit tarts online, I end up with recipes for the big, fluted edge ones!. And for those unfamiliar with Saskatoon berries they are similar in shape, size and color to blueberries but have a much different flavor. They are called service beries in the USA. Thank you all!!

um i got these directions on a web site.
In a saucepan, simmer saskatoon berries in water for 10 minutes. Add lemon juice. Stir in granulated sugar mixed with flour. Pour into pastry lined pie plate. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust; seal and flute edges. Bake in 425F oven for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 350F oven and bake 35-45 minutes longer or until golden brown.
